Are you ready to embark on a creative journey that combines the power of storytelling, the art of filmmaking, and the transformative potential of social change? Whether you’re a seasoned performer or someone stepping into the world of drama and film for the first time, our unique course based on Augusto Boal’s Forum Theatre welcomes you.

This is an inclusive course, designed for people who face any type of disabling barrier to society including mental health challenges, neurodiversity, learning or physical disabilities. Whether you’re an experienced actor or trying drama and film for the first time, our supportive, accessible and creative environment ensures that everyone’s voice is valued and heard.

What Is Forum Theatre?

Forum Theatre is a dynamic form of participatory drama rooted in Brazilian theatre practitioner Augusto Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed. It explores social issues and supports change in a safe, creative space. This powerful method fosters empathy, dialogue and action – tools for co-creating a more just and equitable society.

Our course draws on these principles to create a vibrant, inclusive space where everyone can find their voice, express their ideas, and learn through collaboration. Rather than performing to a live audience, our dramatic interventions will be made into a series of short films to be shared across a range of platforms for far reaching impact

Explore Creative Expression

Drama is at the heart of this course, offering participants the chance to develop performance skills while exploring themes that matter to them. Through games, improvisation, and scene work inspired by Forum Theatre, you’ll discover new ways to communicate, connect, and tell stories. You’ll learn how to step into different perspectives, build characters, and create narratives that resonate deeply with participants and audiences.

Learn Film-Making Skills

In addition to drama, this course introduces the fundamentals of filmmaking. You’ll learn how to transform your stories and performances into powerful visual narratives. From scriptwriting and storyboarding to directing, filming, and sound recording and acting, you’ll gain hands-on experience in the entire creative process.

Film allows us to reach even wider audiences, amplifying the messages and ideas developed through Forum Theatre. You’ll not only master technical skills but also explore how to use film as a tool for social change, creating content that inspires conversation and action.

Be Part of a Community for Change

This course is more than learning skills—it’s also about building a community. Together, we’ll tackle important issues, challenge societal norms, and celebrate diverse perspectives. You’ll create new friendships, enhance confidence and a deeper understanding of how drama and film can make a difference in the world.

No Experience Necessary

Whether you’ve dreamed of being in front or behind the camera, or are simply curious about trying something new, this course is for you. No prior experience in drama or filmmaking is required—just an open mind and a willingness to explore.

Join us and discover how creativity can change not only your life but also the world around you. Let’s raise our voices, tell our stories, and make an impact—together.
